Information on how to check whether a work permit is genuine (Physical check)
ICA's bottomline is not who the landlord rents the premises to, but that all foreign
tenants, residing here due to work committments or other reasons, have to possess valid WP, EP or Visit Passes,
whether short or long term.
There is no physical document which solely serves as an original entry
permit.
It comes in the form of a stamp on the passport for short term (14 days)
visits and a green card for long term visits.
Both these serves as the original entry permit.
For Work Permit and Employment Pass holders, their WPs/EPs act as the
original entry permit .
We wish to draw Members' attention to the risk for
not doing the above 3 due diligence checks for ALL prospective foreign tenants that you recommend to the landlord.
PENALTY 
Mandatory imprisonment of six months to two years
as well as a fine not exceeding $6,000.
